College life is a wonderful thing.

Mostly because you’re an adult… but at this age, in this situation, you get to decide what that means.

Most college students are by far not real adults. They’re not responsible enough yet to really take care of themselves with no outside help. I myself am included in this category. At twenty-one, I can pretty much do anything “adult-like,” other than weird things like renting a car, but by no means am I grown up.

College gives you the freedom from your parents’ since they can no longer watch you constantly. It gives you a taste of responsibility. But! You’re still allowed to act a little childish. Do silly things just for the fun of it. Just live life to it’s fullest, and embrace the opportunities that arise. Do things because you want to, no matter what others may think.

For me, college means doing impulsive things because I can. It means deciding to take a random bubble bath while singing along to Disney classics. It means dragging my mattress out into the living room and making a kick-ass blanket fort, just because I suddenly had no reason not to. It means sitting here eating tomato soup out of a teacup because I never seem to have enough bowls clean, waiting for my boyfriend to get back so we can do exceedingly fun adult things in said fort. It means writing this all down in a blog because I’m young and carefree and want to be able to look back on these days and sigh fondly.
